reality, again

moon beams sparkle in her eyes
glancing off her hair.
dreamless with no alibis
to temper her despair
she wanders through what was before
to all that might have been.
reality she can’t ignore
draws closer once again,

alone within her circumstance
reclusive as a thought
with no desire to find romance
and never quite distraught
she oft allows her mind to trace
while memories grow dim
the gentle contours of his face
thus she remembers him.

the candor of the moment lost
to reminisce upon
the fulness once that had embossed
her soul and now was gone
eyes brim with tears and scan the night
take in the moon beams then
cast phantoms from her mind and sight
reality…again.
